Floor Finisher is a skilled tradesperson responsible for preparing, finishing, and protecting floor surfaces to achieve a durable, safe, and high-quality final appearance. The role involves working with a variety of materials across residential, commercial, and civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare floor surfaces by cleaning, grinding, levelling, and repairing substrates
- Apply floor finishes such as concrete polishing, epoxy coatings, sealers, vinyl, timber, tiles, or carpets (depending on project scope)
- Mix and apply compounds, adhesives, coatings, and sealants to manufacturer specifications
- Operate tools and equipment including grinders, polishers, trowels, and screeding tools
- Ensure finished floors meet quality, safety, and design requirements
- Follow site safety procedures, SWMS, and PPE requirements
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to meet project timelines
- Inspect completed work and carry out touch-ups or repairs as required
