Join the Insignia Financials Data Engineering team as a GCP Data Engineer/Modeller where you’ll work on enterprise-wide data assets that power analytics, reporting, and business decision-making. Our state-of-the-art data platform on Google Cloud, with the power of BigQuery and paving the way for future machine learning and AI innovations, you will work across complex source systems, applying strong data modelling expertise to design and deliver high-quality analytical data structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges and contributing to a modern, scalable data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse complex source systems to understand data structures, semantics, and data quality characteristics
Map source system data into enterprise and analytical data models to ensure consistency and usability
Design, develop, and refine analytical data structures that support reporting, analytics, and integration requirements
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data lineage, mappings, and modelling decisions
Build and enhance data pipelines that ingest, transform, and integrate data across multiple platforms and consumption layers
Develop and maintain workflow orchestration processes and DAGs with clear dependencies and transformation logic
Optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
Partner with business stakeholders, data analysts, and technology teams to validate data definitions and modelling assumptions
Support the delivery of high-quality, trusted data assets that enable informed business decision-making
What you will bring:
5+ years’ experience in data engineering, analytical data modelling, and transformation design
Strong knowledge of analytical data modelling concepts, including facts, dimensions, grain, and historical data patterns
Experience with Data Vault modelling and enterprise data modelling frameworks
Proven ability to analyse complex source systems and translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
Advanced SQL skills and experience implementing complex transformation logic, ideally within Google BigQuery environments
Experience working with large and complex datasets in enterprise environments
Exposure to data orchestration and workflow tools such as Airflow or Composer
Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
