About the Role
Join a fast-paced Emergency Department where your expertise will make an immediate difference. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll lead mental health care, support complex clinical decisions, build strong partnerships and help shape safe, consumer-focused outcomes across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist mental health assessment and care
- Lead clinical decisions in the Emergency Department
- Support Consultation Liaison and other mental health teams
- Guide junior doctors, students and nurse practitioners
- Build strong partnerships across health disciplines
- Maintain safe, best-practice clinical standards
- Contribute to quality, risk and service improvement work
- Support education, learning and professional development
- Represent Mental Health Services on committees and forums
- Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health teams
About You
You are a collaborative and compassionate Psychiatrist who brings clinical expertise, sound judgement and a commitment to high-quality mental health care.
- MBBS (or equivalent) and Specialist registration
- Fellow of RANZCP with ongoing CPD participation
- Deliver excellence in public mental health care
- Guide trainees and support multidisciplinary teams
- Apply strong clinical judgement and quality focus
