Kingship Coffee is a busy café committed to delivering exceptional food and outstanding customer experiences. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef / Cook to join our growing kitchen team.
Position: Chef / Cook
Location: 244 Coward Street, Mascot NSW
Roster: Monday – Sunday (Rotating Roster)
Shift: 4:00 PM until Close
Immediate Start: Available for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with Kingship Coffee’s recipes and presentation standards.
* Ensure all dishes are served consistently, efficiently, and to a high standard during busy service periods.
* Complete food preparation, mise en place, and kitchen setup before service.
* Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP and NSW Food Authority requirements.
* Monitor food quality, freshness, stock rotation (FIFO), and minimise food waste.
* Ensure correct storage, labelling, and handling of all food products.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
* Assist with stock ordering, inventory control, and daily kitchen operations.
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
* Monitor portion control to maintain food quality and cost efficiency.
* Assist with menu development and seasonal specials where required.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.
* Remain calm and organised while working under pressure during peak trading periods.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef or Cook in a busy café.
* Strong understanding and practical knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
* Experience with stock control, FIFO procedures, and minimising food wastage.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high food quality.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required.
* Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is highly regarded.
