About the role
Are you a passionate café professional who loves great coffee, innovative beverages and creating memorable customer experiences? As our Hospitality Supervisor - Café Operations, you will lead the daily operations of multiple café outlets within our vibrant retirement living community, ensuring exceptional service, high presentation standards and a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests.
This hands-on leadership role is perfect for an experienced café supervisor who thrives on the floor, leads by example and enjoys bringing fresh ideas to life. From crafting quality coffee and developing exciting seasonal drinks to coaching team members and creating engaging café experiences, you'll play a key role in driving our café culture and making every visit memorable.
This is a full-time opportunity where your work schedule will be Monday-Thursday (8:30am-4:30pm), Friday (8:30am-5:00pm)
Role responsibilities
Café Operations
- Lead daily operations across multiple café outlets to ensure efficient, friendly and consistent service.
- Maintain a visible and hands-on presence during service periods, supporting the team where needed.
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages and light food offerings to company standards.
- Ensure café displays, grab-and-go offerings and retail areas are presented professionally at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering to ensure product availability.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach and support café team members during daily operations.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team culture.
- Ensure service standards, policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Resident & Guest Experience
- Deliver warm and engaging service that exceeds resident and guest expectations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries, feedback and requests.
- Build positive relationships with residents through regular interaction and personalised service.
Compliance & Standards
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, ACT Health requirements and company policies.
- Complete daily operational checks and required administration accurately and on time.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Essential
- Current RSA certification.
- Current Food Safety Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Strong barista skills and experience preparing specialty coffee.
- Experience using hospitality Point of Sale systems.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
