About S4S Academy
S4S Academy is a growing football academy based in Melbourne, providing high-quality coaching programs for players across a range of ages and development levels. Our programs include academy training, performance teams, school programs, holiday clinics, and player development pathways.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Technical Director to help lead our coaching program, support coach development, and continue improving the overall football environment across S4S Academy.
About the Role
The Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing the football direction of S4S Academy, supporting coaches, improving session quality, and helping implement a clear player development framework across the academy.
This role is suited to someone who is organised, confident working with coaches and players, and passionate about building a strong football culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical direction and coaching standards across S4S Academy programs
- Support, mentor, and provide feedback to academy coaches
- Assist with session planning and curriculum development
- Ensure training sessions align with the academy’s playing and development philosophy
- Attend selected training sessions and match days to support coaches and players
- Help identify player development needs and support individual player progression
- Lead or assist with coach education sessions and internal workshops
- Provide input into team grading, player movement, and development pathways
- Work closely with academy coordinators to ensure strong communication and organisation
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, behaviour, and presentation across all programs
Requirements
- Strong football coaching experience
- Previous experience leading or mentoring coaches is preferred
- Football Australia coaching qualifications preferred
- Strong understanding of junior player development
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Reliable, organised, and professional
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Working With Children Check required
- Driver’s licence and access to transport preferred
