The Role
We are seeking passionate and empathetic Youth Workers to join our team in the Ipswich region. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
As a Youth Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment. Through daily guidance and encouragement, you will assist young people in developing practical life skills, social capabilities, and confidence while serving as a positive role model as they transition into adulthood.

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Mentor and support young people in developing essential life skills.
- Build rapport and trust by being a positive, dependable, and consistent role model.
- Demonstrate resilience when responding to challenging behaviours.
- Encourage positive behaviours through effective redirection and negotiation techniques.
- Develop nurturing and supportive relationships through active engagement.
- Ensure the young person's fundamental needs are met, including maintaining a balanced diet, personal hygiene, school participation, and access to positive life experiences.
- Promote independent living skills, including cooking, budgeting, shopping, and household maintenance.
- Facilitate activities that enhance life skills, confidence, and self-worth.
- Support children and young people in building their capacity to actively participate in their community.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
Requirements
- Hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services, or a related qualification (or be currently working towards one).
- Demonstrate the ability to implement effective strategies and techniques to de-escalate challenging behaviours.
- Have experience and expertise in engaging with young people.
- Hold a current driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Hold a current Working With Children Check / Blue Card.
- Be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and overnight shifts.

Pay: $35.15 – $45.00 per hour
