Introduction:
Lycée Condorcet Sydney (LCS) is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Administration Team and support the Finance Manager across a range of finance, customer service and administrative activities.
This is a varied and people-focused role, ideal for someone who combines strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills, enjoys working with families and colleagues, and can confidently manage sensitive financial matters with professionalism, discretion and empathy.
As a bilingual French-English environment, excellent written and spoken French and English are essential.

This is a potentially vacant position starting in September.
Finance & Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and manage invoices for school fees, extracurricular activities, music, sports, CAPN, After Care and examinations.
- Maintain fee information and finance-related modules in EDUKA.
- Set up payment instalment schedules and process parent payments.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Record and reconcile daily sales and cash transactions, including uniforms, books, canteen tickets and other school sales.
- Prepare payment requests and finance reports, including debtor and fee reports.
- Support financial assistance applications and the review of school fee policies.
- Assist with the school's biannual financial audit.
Administration, Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and secure financial records and files in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
- Update payment instalments in PayWay and student financial information in EDUKA, in liaison with Admissions.
- Liaise with the Vie Scolaire team regarding monthly canteen billing.
- Prepare weekly canteen reports and coordinate excursion sandwich orders with the canteen team.
- Conduct quarterly uniform stocktakes.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and service delivery, and contribute to their implementation.
- Provide general administrative and operational support across the school as required.
Customer Service & School Community
- Provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for families and visitors, including supporting Reception when required.
- Build positive relationships with families while handling financial matters with tact, empathy and appropriate firmness.
- Communicate confidently in both French and English, adapting communication to different cultural contexts.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture where service, integrity, kindness and humour are valued.
- Participate in school events and activities and contribute positively to the wider LCS community.
Skills and Experiences:

Ideally, you will bring:
- 2–3 years' experience in a similar finance, accounts receivable or administration role.
- A Diploma of Accounting or Certificate IV in Business Administration.
- Excellent French and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive, long-term relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and record-keeping skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and the confidence to work independently.
