Job description:
The Limerick Arms Hotel is seeking experienced Cook to assist the management and help our kitchen team.
We are looking for driven and committed candidates with excellent food service knowledge. The suitable candidates must be able to work full time, including days/nights and weekends.
Position Criteria
This role requires ability to perform general and specialized cooking duties and supervising other cooks and kitchen employees.
Key to the success to this role will be the skill to perform following duties:
- Working in a variety of sections of the kitchen
- Training and supervising junior kitchen staff members to ensure high standards of service
- Preparing for the service and assigning food preparations and other duties required for the shift
- Assessing inventory and requesting supplies when necessary
- Following opening and closing standard procedures
- Ensuring compliance with operating guidelines and venue standards
- Using safe work practices and supporting others to use them
- Representing the company with a high level of professional appearance
Position Requirements
The successful candidates would meet following qualifications, experience and abilities criteria:
- Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role in the hospitality industry
- Strong planning, time management and organizational skills and work ethic
- Excellent communication, supervising, customer service and people skills
- Ability to work full time on a flexible roster
