We’re looking for an Engineering Technical Writer to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who enjoys working with technical detail, wants to build their knowledge of network assets, and is keen to be involved in how materials and equipment are tested, selected and used.
Fixed term until December 2026
What you’ll be doing
- Create, review and update technical documentation including specifications, work instructions and notices
- Support testing of materials and equipment, contributing to selection and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with Management of Change (MOC), including documentation updates and technical input
- Provide practical support to field teams on materials, equipment and their application
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to support quality, compliance and improvements across the network
What you’ll bring
- Engineering or technical qualification (degree, diploma or similar)
- Some exposure to utilities, manufacturing, maintenance or similar (through study, placements or work)
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in technical documentation and how things work
- Comfortable using systems (MS Office essential, SAP/CAD a plus)
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and get across different parts of the business
