Monash Club is seeking an experienced Senior Front of House Supervisor to join our team.
Located on the beautiful Monash University Clayton campus, Monash Club is a unique hospitality venue catering to university staff, alumni, corporate clients, and private guests. Our venue features a members' lounge, restaurant, private dining room, and multiple meeting and event spaces that can be tailored to suit a wide range of functions, meetings, conferences, and special events.
The role is a hands-on front-of-house leadership position that involves providing ongoing guidance, leadership and operational support to service staff during daily restaurant service, private functions and peak trading periods. The position is responsible for ensuring high standards of customer service, coordinating team activities, assisting with the smooth delivery of service, and supporting staff to effectively manage busy trading periods while maintaining operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Working closely with the Venue Manager, Supervisor, Chefs, and front-of-house team, you will play a key role in maintaining service excellence and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
About the Role
As the Senior Front of House Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue. You will engage with guests, manage reservations and special requests, resolve customer concerns, and maintain the high service standards that Monash Club is known for.
You will oversee daily floor operations, coordinating staffing and communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service delivery. You will also maintain venue presentation, guest greeting, supervision of service during trading periods and functions and seating and reservation management including OpenTable to ensure accurate reservations and guest information.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum two years experience in a team leader, or supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing restaurant, café, club, hotel, or function venue operations.
- Strong understanding of reservations management, customer service, and event coordination
- Ability to supervise cash handling procedures, discounts, reconciliations, and end-of-day close processes.
- Great customer service with the ability to deliver guest experience and maintaining high service standards
- Proficiency in using OpenTable and Square POS to help with the day to day running of the venue
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Current RSA certification.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for hospitality excellence.
