Bossco Auto 4x4 Accessories is a family owned and operated business founded in 2011. It has grown into a leading Australian distributor of aftermarket 4X4 accessories. The business provides a broad range of products for utes and 4WD vehicles, including electric roller shutters, tonneau covers, canopies, tub drawers, roof racks, bull bars, nudge bars, LED light bars, awnings and other 4x4 accessories.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Automotive Electrician to join our workshop team in Prestons. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic systems associated with 4WD and ute accessories.
Key Responsibilities
● Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in utes, 4WD vehicles and fitted accessories.
● Install, connect and test 12V electrical systems for 4WD and ute accessories.
● Fit and wire electric roller shutters, powered tonneau covers, LED lights and related accessories.
● Install wiring harnesses, switches, relays, control boxes and accessory power connections.
● Repair or replace faulty wiring, fuses, lamps, switches, relays and electrical components.
● Test and replace defective alternators, generators, voltage regulators and starter motors.
● Adjust engine control systems and timing as required.
● Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to confirm system faults and performance.
● Read and follow wiring diagrams, product manuals and manufacturer installation instructions.
● Test completed installations to ensure safe, reliable and proper operation.
● Liaise with workshop and sales staff to confirm vehicle compatibility and installation requirements.
● Maintain accurate job records and ensure all work meets workshop safety and quality standards.
Skills and Experience Required
● Relevant trade qualification in automotive electrical technology or a related field.
● Previous experience as an Automotive Electrician.
● Strong knowledge of 12V automotive electrical systems.
● Experience installing vehicle accessories, 4WD accessories, LED lights, wiring harnesses, switches, relays and electronic control components.
● Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicles and aftermarket accessories.
● Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow manufacturer installation instructions.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
● Current driver licence.
