YAY Today is a growing registered NDIS provider supporting people across Melbourne through Supported Independent Living (SIL), community supports, day programs and other disability services.We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to take ownership of our payroll function for a workforce of approximately 100 employees.This is a hands-on role for someone who already understands the complexities of payroll within an NDIS or disability services environment.About the RoleReporting to our Office Manager, you will be working approximately 20 hours per week, being responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing and ensuring employees are paid correctly in accordance with their employment conditions and the applicable Modern Award.Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing payroll for approximately 100 employees
- Reviewing and reconciling timesheets and rostered hours
- Processing ordinary hours, overtime and penalty rates
- Managing weekend and public holiday rates
- Processing sleepovers, broken shifts and applicable allowances
- Reviewing leave balances and processing annual, personal and other leave
- Managing payroll adjustments and corrections
- Processing new starters and employee terminations
- Superannuation and payroll-related compliance
- Payroll reconciliations and reporting
- Maintaining accurate payroll and employee records
- Working closely with Finance, Operations and People & Culture
- Identifying payroll discrepancies before payroll is finalised
- Responding to employee payroll enquiries professionally and accurately
What We're Looking ForEssential:
- Demonstrated payroll experience
- Previous payroll experience within an NDIS provider, disability services organisation or closely related sector
- Strong working knowledge of the SCHADS Award, particularly the Social and Community Services stream
- Experience interpreting rosters, timesheets, penalty rates, overtime, allowances, sleepovers and broken shifts
- Strong attention to detail and confidence identifying payroll errors
- Experience using payroll software such as Xero Payroll
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the payroll cycle
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information
Experience working with ShiftCare or another NDIS rostering platform will be highly regarded.HoursThis is a permanent part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week.We are open to discussing how these hours are structured across the week for the right person.About YAY TodayAt YAY Today, the people we support deserve consistency, respect and a team they can rely on.
