Agency Purpose
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Government to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs.
The AEC’s values and commitments
The AEC values and commitments are an essential component of our operating environment and frame how AEC staff work. The AEC's focus is on electoral integrity through the values of quality, agility and professionalism.
About the Team
The AEC’s South Australia State Office is located in metropolitan Adelaide and is responsible for delivering electoral services, including electoral roll management, voter participation initiatives and preparation activities for federal electoral events across South Australia. The team consists of a State Manager, Director of Operations and a workforce that scales up significantly during federal elections.
When a federal election is announced, staffing levels increase rapidly to support the delivery of a major national event. This work involves coordinating large-scale and high-priority activities in a fast-paced environment with heightened public, media and stakeholder interest, strict timeframes and multiple interconnected operational priorities.
The Opportunities
