STAVY’S PIZZERIA GREYSTANES is looking for an experienced Chef to prepare and deliver high-quality pizzas and a variety of other menu items at its busy restaurant in Greystanes, NSW. The successful applicant will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment as part of a supportive and well-organised team.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Requirements
- A relevant Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field
- At least 2–3 years of relevant professional experience as a Chef
- Experience preparing pizzas, sauces, pasta dishes, appetisers, and other restaurant menu items
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, portion control, and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to manage multiple orders while maintaining consistent food quality
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to high food-quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required
- Ability to manage stock levels and minimise food waste
- Capacity to remain calm and productive during busy service periods
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present pizzas and other menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Plan menus and contribute to the development of new dishes and seasonal menu options
- Check the quality of ingredients and finished dishes before service
- Monitor portion sizes, food presentation, and consistency
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and other ingredients required for daily service
- Operate ovens, grills, fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment safely
- Coordinate food preparation and service activities with other kitchen staff
- Estimate food requirements and assist with ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies
- Monitor stock levels and ensure ingredients are stored correctly
- Maintain accurate stock rotation using appropriate food-storage procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements
- Keep kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and organised
- Train and guide kitchen staff in cooking methods, food preparation, and hygiene procedures
- Assist with staff scheduling and the allocation of kitchen duties where required
- Respond appropriately to customer dietary requirements and special meal requests
- Maintain consistent food quality during both quiet and busy service periods
- Identify kitchen operational issues and recommend practical improvements
- Minimise food waste and help control food and labour costs
- Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction
