About the Company
Valente is an established Italian manufacturer of technical equipment for the agricultural sector, known for high-quality crop protection and orchard/vineyard solutions used by growers around the world. As part of an ongoing investment in the Australia and New Zealand market, Valente is now looking for an Area Manager to take ownership of this region and drive the next phase of growth.
About the Role
This is a hybrid commercial and relationship-management role at the heart of Valente's ANZ operations. You'll be the local face of the business — managing and supporting Valente's Australian dealer network, developing new business opportunities, and building a strong reputation for the brand across the agricultural community.
You'll work closely with Valente's Sales Management team in Italy, acting as the bridge between the local market and the wider organisation, while also building your own network of growers, agronomists, nurseries and installers across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Valente's distributor network in Australia, helping align and strengthen dealer relationships
- Identify, qualify and develop new customers, distributors and key accounts across the region
- Build long-term relationships with growers, agronomists, nurseries, installers and other industry stakeholders
- Study customer requirements and design technical solutions, preparing and presenting quotations and proposals
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring smooth handover to internal teams for delivery and installation
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the company CRM and report regularly to Sales Management in Italy
- Represent Valente at trade fairs and industry events across Australia and New Zealand
- Monitor the competitive landscape and contribute to defining the commercial strategy for the territory
- Collaborate with Sales Support, Project Management and Marketing to ensure customers receive a seamless experience from first contact through to after-sales support
About You
- Proven experience in B2B sales, business development or territory/account management in an AgTech environment.
- Background in or genuine passion for agriculture, horticulture, viticulture or a related technical field is highly desirable
- Comfortable understanding technical requirements and translating them into tailored solutions for customers
- Experience managing distributors, dealers or indirect sales channels
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the credibility to earn trust from growers through to senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, with the discipline to maintain accurate CRM records and reporting
- Confident working autonomously and managing a large, geographically dispersed territory
- Comfortable operating within an international business, collaborating with a European head office and multicultural teams
- Willingness to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand, including regional and remote areas
- Valid driver's licence
