Maitland Hospital is seeking motivated and enthusiastic unaccredited trainees to join our Medical team.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for junior doctors to consolidate their clinical skills, gain exposure across a broad range of medical specialties, and strengthen their experience in preparation for future physician training pathways.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary medical team
- Participate in the assessment and management of patients across general and subspecialty medicine
- Develop clinical reasoning and decision-making skills in both acute and inpatient settings
- Contribute to teaching, audit and quality improvement activities
- Work under supervision with regular feedback from experienced physicians and senior trainees

Qualifications - External
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in the Public Health System as a medical officer. Demonstrated recent relevant experience in clinical medicine and the ability to work with an appropriate level of independence within a supervised complex clinical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively & harmoniously in a multidisciplinary team. This includes the provision of supervision, support and leadership to Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students.
- Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate and interact with a wide variety of people in clinical and non-clinical settings.
- Willingness or demonstrated capacity to participate in afterhours weekend and on-call rosters and undertake overtime as required.
- Evidence of commitment to self-education and continued professional development with skills in teaching and facilitation.
