The role
The purpose of the General Practitioner with Special Interest: Outpatient Care position is to improve timely access to secondary outpatient care for consumers and facilitate care between outpatient hospital and general practice by providing services within outpatient clinics with sub-specialty clinical teams.
PLEASE NOTE: There are multiple permanent part-time roles available, with hours variable.

Salary range: $91.84 - $103.80 p.h. (L13-L18)
5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading

12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
Must have Registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Australia and Fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee.
Travel: This position may require the incumbent to work at other facilities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Knowledge of current Obstetric Medicine practices and issues and evidence of an appropriate level of expertise in the skills of the preferred subspecialty.
Demonstrated impact as a clinical leader and innovator at the local level.
Demonstrated strong clinical leadership in managing a junior medical workforce.
Demonstrated a high level of communication skills (written, oral computer and interpersonal skills) with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of backgrounds.
Experience in a Rural and Remote facility of medicine.
A personal commitment to the maintenance of high standards in the clinical care to patients and proven ability to react promptly to emergency or urgent situations impacting upon patient care.
Proven ability to practice medicine in a cross-cultural environment.
