All-Round Café Waiter/WaitressPosition Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking All-Round Café Waiter/Waitress to join our café team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service while assisting with daily café operations, including front-of-house service, food and beverage preparation, cleaning, and general duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service.
- Take customer orders accurately and process payments through the POS system.
- Serve food, coffee, beverages, and other menu items.
- Prepare basic food and beverages according to café standards.
- Clear and clean tables, chairs, counters, and dining areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Restock food, beverages, packaging, and other supplies.
- Assist kitchen and barista staff when required.
- Ensure orders are presented correctly and served promptly.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve minor customer concerns professionally.
- Follow food safety, workplace health and safety, and café procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team during busy service periods.
- Perform other general café duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and well presented.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays when required.
- RSA certificate is an advantage if alcohol is served.
- Food Safety Supervisor training is an advantage where applicable.
