Permanency Support Program as
Youth Workers across the
Central Coast.
This is a unique opportunity to move from managing crisis to creating lasting change.
You'll support young people aged
11–18 who have experienced significant trauma, abuse and neglect. These young people have complex emotional and behavioural needs, requiring calm, confident professionals who can build trust, maintain boundaries, de-escalate challenging situations and provide consistent, therapeutic support.
If you've worked in corrections, custodial services or other complex care settings, you'll already understand the importance of structure, resilience, teamwork and professional relationships. We'll provide the trauma-informed training to help you apply those skills in a child-focused environment.
Role Details
- Multiple Permanent Part-Time (30 hours per week) and Casual opportunities
- Multiple homes across the Central Coast
- 24/7 rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays
We're Looking For People Who
- Have experience working in Correctional Services, Juvenile Justice, Youth Justice, Custodial Services, Security or other high-risk care environments (highly regarded)
- Remain calm, confident and professional under pressure
- Can safely manage challenging behaviours using empathy and strong communication
- Build respectful relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
- Want to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
What You'll Need
- Diploma of Community Services (or currently studying), or willingness to enrol
- Experience working with people with complex behaviours (highly regarded)
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice or willingness to learn
- Working With Children Check
- National Criminal History Check
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Access to a Comprehensively Insured Vehicle
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain before commencement)
