Lead strategic drinking water quality initiatives that influence outcomes across the Corporation

About the role
As a Principal in DWQ Operations Support, you will provide expert leadership on both current and emerging water quality challenges. You’ll play a critical role in shaping strategy, influencing decision-making, and driving improvements across water quality systems, policies, and practices.
You’ll work across operations, planning, engineering, and external regulators to ensure consistent and high-performing water quality outcomes.
What the role will involve

Lead the identification and management of current and emerging drinking water quality risks

Develop and implement strategies to strengthen water quality performance
-
Provide technical leadership and expert guidance across water quality management
-
Drive continuous improvement in processes, risk management, and assurance activities
-
Lead process audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
-
Influence business planning, investment, and operational decisions to embed water quality priorities
About you
-
Degree qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
-
Extensive experience in water quality or environmental management.
-
Demonstrated experience engaging with and influencing regulators and government stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of drinking water quality practices, including the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Proven experience developing and implementing policies, frameworks and strategic initiatives.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
