About Us:
Carbide Bit Co. is a longstanding drilling consumable manufacturer with one of the biggest drilling consumable warehouses in Australia, with over 50 years experience with a small team of under 20 staff. We are located in Darra, Brisbane with our workshop and warehouse under the one building with parking on site. We pride ourselves on high quality drill bits, distributing all over Australia and New Zealand and on occasions, various overseas locations.
Responsibilities:
You will provide Technical support to the processing team.
Assisting with metallurgical test work.
Actively participating in reviewing existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Effectively monitoring activities whilst maintaining statutory compliance.
Providing leadership and mentoring to the process operators and ongoing technical support to the broader processing department.
Collecting and analysing plant samples.
Conducting test works of samples.
Collating test work results.
Sound knowledge of process Technologies and equipment.
Enduring test plane are carried out in line with Company's requirements.
Reporting to Production Manager.
Attention to detail is crucial to the success of this role.
Must be able to think o your feet and act accordingly.
38 hour week with possible overtime available.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in the manufacture of Tungsten Carbide composite rods and manufacture of Tungsten Carbide hard facing.
Prior experience within the Resources / Oil & Gas Industry.
Prior experience at a Plant Metallurgist level.
Must be willing to work independently and in a team environment.
Work Authorisation: Australia (preferred).
Current Open Drivers Licence.
