Primary objective
Leads and supports coordination of research study/project, working within established standards, protocols, and governance to
ensure high quality research is delivered.
Context statement
Situated within the Hospital Resource Coordination Unit (HRCU) at Alice Springs Hospital, this role provides strategic leadership
and operational oversight of clinical trials and research projects across multiple specialties, including responsibility for contract
management, financial oversight, and workforce coordination. The position acts as a key point of contact for stakeholders, including
sponsors, and provides guidance and support to staff and local investigators, contributing to research capacity development and
embedding research within routine care. Local knowledge of the Central Australian context is highly regarded.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provides specialist research knowledge and skills to establish and maintain therapeutic and collaborative relationships with the
multidisciplinary team, participants, and external stakeholders involved in research study/projects.
2. Accountable for ensuring research activities are conducted in an ethical manner, adhering to relevant legislation, established
standards and guidelines related to research, multidisciplinary practice, and the health service.

4. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development, coordination, and/or delivery of research projects.
3. Demonstrated advanced research knowledge and skills supporting well-developed decision-making and problem solving to
achieve best practice in clinical research and enhance evidence-based practice.
4. Demonstrated well-developed leadership and management knowledge, skills, and experience, including sound conceptual,
analytical and reasoning skills, to support translation of contemporary evidence to practice.
5. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to maximise productive working relationships
with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate best practice clinical research.
6. Demonstrates and applies well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and
sensitivities that influence healthcare and delivery of research programs.
Desirable
1. Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to specialty area or research study/project.

Ongoing appointment is subject to attainment of Graduate Diploma beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty area.
The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a
