The Group Financial Controller is a pivotal role in the Group Finance Team, responsible for financial accounting, treasury, and operational finance across the Iress Group. The role will be managing a team of ~19 and will suit an up & coming ASX listed Financial Controller seeking to expand breadth in a business which is continuing to transform at rapid pace.
Accountabilities and deliverables
Enhance and maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks to drive process improvement, standardisation, simplification and automation across Group Finance
Enhance governance, structure and control of financial grade data
Support the Head of Group Tax & Financial Control in preparation of policy, ARC and Board papers
Manage the external audit process, ensuring the timely delivery of audit requirements
Oversee preparation of the annual / half year financial reports for Group and APAC subsidiary entities in accordance with IFRS
Lead month-end and year-end close across all entities; own control of group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow uplifting quality and timeliness
Management of
Treasury encompassing cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, transactional banking arrangements and treasury risk management
AR, AP, Financial Accounting operations
Finance Systems in defining the finance technology roadmap
Lead finance transformation — Uplifting quality of capability, outputs, risk controls, process redesign and automation
Facilitate adhoc internal audits and the execution and maintenance of recommendations
Provide effective leadership and mentorship of team members, driving a culture of high performance, strong personal accountability and responsibility and supporting the Iress purpose and values
What you will bring
Qualified accountant with post qualification experience in a Financial Controller role or similar in a multi-national ASX listed company
Strong technical accounting (IFRS) knowledge and skills, with an ability to apply accounting standards knowledge to real issues
Strong understanding of end to end financial risk management and frameworks
Experience in enhancing and implementing robust internal control systems to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of financial data
A strong pro-active operator with experience in collaborating across regions and functions in a global business, adhere to tight deadlines and work under pressure
Best practice presentation and preparation of consolidated financial statements and reports
Experience in management and oversight of Treasury and Treasury risk management
Experience in managing and delivering change projects including ERP transformation
Experience in transforming technology, systems, tools and automation and AI enablement to support the function
