The Opportunity
Compare Club is making a fundamental shift toward an AI-first operating model. Over the next 12 to 24 months, we are committing to AI absorbing a growing share of routine work across our business operations (IT, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Finance).
As our Head of AI, you won't be managing a caretaker function - this is a builder’s role. You will own Compare Club’s AI adoption capability, set the technical bar, and lead a senior team of AI Platform Engineers and Automation Specialists. You will own the shared platform, standards, vendor relationships, and AI risk framework, empowering functional leaders across the business to build and run AI agents on your platform.
Key Responsibilities & Ownership
- AI Strategy & Value Realization: Set the vision, commercial roadmap, and ROI metrics for AI across Compare Club. Horizon-scan and pilot frontier tech to move proven capability into production.
- Strategic Initiative Ownership: Partner directly with the CFOO to co-own and execute the enterprise AI Efficiencies Strategic Initiative.
- Platform, Standards & FinOps: Architect and own the shared AI/automation platform, guardrails, and build-vs-buy decisions. Manage vendor relationships and the AI investment envelope.
- Cross-Functional Adoption & Enablement: Partner with functional heads (Sales, CS, Marketing, Finance, IT) to land AI builds on plan. Drive company-wide AI literacy via training and an AI Champions Network.
- Responsible AI & Governance: Own AI risk frameworks (model bias, data privacy, prompt injection) seamlessly integrated into existing ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and APP standards.
- Leadership & Advisory: Build and lead a senior AI & Automation team, while advising Product and Engineering on embedding AI into customer journeys.
What You Bring to the Role
- Senior AI Leadership: 8+ years in technology, operations or data roles with 3+ years leading enterprise-wide AI/ML or automation adoption at scale. Proven budget ownership and C-suite influence.
- Hands-On AI Builder: Deep, practical experience with modern AI/ML and LLM technology, agentic/multi-agent systems, RAG, and prompt/context engineering. You prototype and set technical standards from the front.
- Production Rigor & FinOps: Experience running production AI systems with systematic evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails, combined with sharp commercial discipline around model and vendor costs.
- Adoption & Enablement Track Record: Proven ability to turn AI pilots into everyday operational habits across non-technical teams (Sales, CS, Finance, Marketing).
- Governance in Regulated Environments: Practical experience embedding model risk, privacy, and security into frameworks like ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and APP.
- Desirable: Anthropic Claude certification or major provider AI credentials (AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenAI).
