About the role
Reporting to the Director, Accessibility and Inclusion, this role supports the Accessibility and Inclusion team, in the Accessibility and Inclusion branch to plan initiatives and deliver activities aiming to improve accessibility of public transport, planning, land use, precinct, policy systems in Victoria. This is done through the monitoring of operators, raising awareness with professionals within the sector, effectively briefing executives and decision makers, effectively collaborating with stakeholders across the Government to ensure compliance
with the statutory requirements and early consultation with users. In line with Victoria’s Universal Design Policy, a key deliverable of this position is to contribute to the development of policies, strategies and frameworks within DTP that ensure the appropriate consideration for incorporating universal design principles consistently across communications, services and infrastructure projects.
As part of the Integrated Strategy Division, the Accessibility and Inclusion branch is responsible for advising on DTP high-level policy direction and options to improve system outcomes based on the best available research, to better position DTP to achieve transport, planning, land use, precinct, policy and whole-of government priorities.

- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build support, negotiate effectively and achieve positive outcomes with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trusted partnerships and work collaboratively across teams, business areas and external organisations.
Qualifications and Experience
A tertiary qualification or proven extensive experience in transport, planning and/or disability policy is desirable. People with lived experience of disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
