Primary objective
Undertake workforce strategy projects across the department to draft, coordinate and assess position evaluations as well as
ensure establishment information accurately reflects approved organisation structure to support effective workforce
planning and recruitment outcomes across the agency.
Context statement
The position sits within the Recruitment and Attraction team within the Strategy, Governance and Workforce branch and
supports the agency by ensuring workforce structures align with approved organisational frameworks. The role works closely
with divisions and Workforce Services with Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) to provide advice
on establishment management, internal processes and position evaluations.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Prepare, review and maintain Job Analysis Questionnaires (JAQs) in consultation with managers to support accurate
position evaluation and classification outcomes.
2. Evaluate positions using the Job Evaluation System (JES) as the agency representative ensuring the organisation structure
is compliant with relevant NTPS practices.
3. Review and update workforce establishment information to ensure alignment with approved organisational structures,
resourcing decisions and budget approvals.
4. Provide high-level advice and support to stakeholders on establishment management and position evaluations.
5. Assist with position readiness for attraction, recruitment and workforce planning needs.
6. Support continuous improvement by identifying risks, issues and opportunities within workforce establishment and
position evaluation processes.
7. Assist in the management and placement of supernumerary and unattached officers within the established organisation
structure.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level experience in workforce establishment management and position evaluations including the
drafting and assessment of roles and responsibilities.
2. Proven ability to work in a complex, high-volume environment, managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes
to tight timeframes.
3. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain establishments and classification
matters clearly.
4. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external
stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated high-level proficiency in using HR systems (e.g. BOXI HR, eRecruit, and PIPS) to extract and apply
organisational structure data for the effective management of establishments.
6. A mature and professional approach to work, including the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a
team.
Desirable
1. Trained evaluator of the Job Evaluation System (JES) and experience with government establishment management
principles.
