We’re looking for a compassionate and driven nurse ready to step into a leadership role as Nurse Unit Manager Grade 2 on Hall Ward, a unique and rewarding environment supporting children and young people with Mental Health Conditions. Hall Ward is a dedicated mental health unit specialising in acute psychiatric inpatient care for young people.
As Nurse Unit Manager 2, you will lead a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. You will foster strong partnerships with local community mental health services, the Education Department, private mental health practitioners, and other health services to ensure holistic support for our patients.
What you'll be doing
The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is pivotal to the coordination of safe patient care, ward management and leadership with an understanding of the 'children first & foremost' philosophy to ensure optimum service delivery.
The NUM acts as a leader with advance role model skills that promote culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
• Leads, directs and co-ordinates safe patient care
• Ensures practice is safe and effective, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvements initiatives
• Manages the ward effectively and within agreed allocated resources
