Help Power the Performance of Caterpillar Equipment
At William Adams, we're proud to represent Caterpillar, one of the world's most recognised and trusted names in heavy equipment. For 100 years, we've supported customers across Victoria and Tasmania, helping keep critical industries moving through reliable equipment, expert service, and strong partnerships.
We're currently looking for an Equipment Service Specialist (Lube Truck Operator) to join our Metro Field Service team, based from either our Clayton or Laverton branch.
If you enjoy working independently, building strong customer relationships, and spending your days out in the field rather than in a workshop, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
About the Role
This is more than a preventative maintenance role.
You'll be the face of William Adams on customer sites, helping maximise machine performance, minimise downtime, and identify potential issues before they become costly problems. Every day will bring different locations, customers, and challenges, giving you the variety and autonomy that comes with working in the field.
Working across a range of Caterpillar equipment, you'll play a key role in keeping our customers productive and their operations running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing high-quality preventative maintenance servicing, inspections and minor repairs on customer equipment
- Conducting routine machine health checks and identifying potential issues early
- Completing service documentation accurately, including service reports, Cat Inspect forms and timesheets
- Delivering exceptional customer service and building strong on-site relationships
- Supporting customers to maximise equipment uptime and productivity
- Working safely and professionally while representing the William Adams brand
About You
You're a trade-qualified Technician or Mechanic who enjoys working autonomously, takes pride in delivering quality work, and understands the importance of providing a great customer experience.
You'll also bring:
- Experience servicing and/or repairing automotive, heavy vehicle, earthmoving or similar equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A self-motivated, reliable and team-oriented approach
- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
- A proactive mindset and willingness to find practical solutions
- A Mid-Rigid licence (or willingness to obtain one – we'll support you and reimburse eligible costs)
