The Manager Equipment and Clothing is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning and delivery of VICSES’ operational equipment, personal protective clothing (PPC) and uniform services. The role ensures VICSES has assured access to critical equipment and consumables, and that these assets are available, maintained and ready to support operational response, including during declared events.
$142,790 to $166,938 + 12% Superannuation
ROLE SUMMARY:
The role provides leadership of the Equipment and Clothing team and is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the State Logistics Centre (SLC) and the State Fleet Centre warehouse, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient receipt, storage, issue and control of equipment and consumables.
The position has responsibility for centralised service delivery, including PPC processing and systems, road crash rescue equipment maintenance, warranty management and the purchase of equipment for new fleet assets. The role also leads the strategic management of operational stores across the state, working closely with regional teams to ensure equipment and consumables are positioned, maintained and ready to support declared operations including timely resupply post event.
The role is responsible for financial management, contract and supplier management, and the establishment and maintenance of strategic and preferred supplier arrangements to ensure continuity of supply for key operational equipment and consumables. The role supports operational capability by influencing and contributing to the assessment, evaluation and specification of equipment, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose.
This is not an operational role; however, the position may be required to participate in rostered arrangements during periods of declared operations to support operational activity, in accordance with organisational requirements. The role may be required to support workshops, taskforces and other engagement activities outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate volunteer availability and support planning and delivery requirements.

We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
