We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Field Technician to join the Infrastructure Department. In this role, you will support field operations by coordinating and monitoring site activities, collecting and reporting field data, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. The Field Technician serves as a key link between field crews, contractors, and technical personnel, helping to maintain the quality and integrity of infrastructure projects and related field activities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and monitor diamond and RC drilling activities to ensure safe operations, high sample recovery, and adherence to quality standards.

Survey and establish drill hole locations, drill pad layouts, drill rig alignments, and downhole surveys using GPS and other field surveying equipment.

Supervise and direct contractors and equipment operators involved in pad construction, road development, drill rig movements, and related field activities.

Inspect and ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards, including ISO 14001 requirements, equipment inspections, and field safety procedures.

Collect, maintain, and communicate accurate field data, drilling records, survey information, and operational updates to geologists and other stakeholders while supporting geological exploration activities.
The ideal candidate will have:

NATIN Diploma or equivalent secondary education qualification (VWO, HAVO, IMEAO).

At least 2 years of relevant experience preferable in mining industry.

Strong knowledge of diamond and RC drilling operations, downhole surveying (Reflex/Gyro), high-precision GPS surveying, geological sampling and QA/QC procedures, and ISO 14001 environmental, health, and safety standards.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, build productive relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization, and supervise teams of samplers and/or heavy equipment operators in the field.
- Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break.

Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
