We are seeking a qualified Cook to join our kitchen team in Townsville. You will prepare and cook Indian meals , maintain food quality standards, and support kitchen operations in a busy restaurant environment.
Key Duties:
- Prepare, cook and present food to menu specifications and food safety standards
- Prep meats, vegetables and seafood.
- Maintain stock levels, check freshness and rotate perishables
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Supervise kitchen hands and assist with training new staff
- Follow recipes, adjust seasoning and ensure consistent quality
- Comply with HACCP and food hygiene regulations
Selection Criteria:
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
Minimum 1 year experience as a Cook
Positive skills assessment from TRA or equivalent assessing authority
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
