Position Overview
Murphy Sports is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Sports Administration Officer to manage day-to-day operations and drive ongoing business growth. Reporting directly to the Business Owner, this position offers a high degree of operational autonomy. You will serve as the central operational hub of the organization—coordinating our coaching staff, managing key client relationships, and ensuring high-quality program delivery across Sydney
Key Responsibilities
Client Relations & Business Growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for schools, OOSH centres, sports clubs, local councils, and charitable organisations.
- Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining strong engagement with existing partners
- Liaise with stakeholders to plan, schedule, and deliver sports programs on time
Operational & Administrative Support
- Oversee daily administrative workflows, including incoming phone and email enquiries from clients and staff.
- Manage the distribution, and maintenance of sports equipment and inventory.
- Design, document, and implement structured session plans and program frameworks ensuring clear communication to coaching staff
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Recruit and onboard coaching personnel across various sporting disciplines.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate coaches to maintain performance excellence, adherence to Murphy Sports values, and high client satisfaction.
- Address performance issues promptly through constructive feedback and corrective management when necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Prior administration background or a qualification in sport management, education, business administration or a related field working with young people.
- Education: Qualification in Sports Coaching/Management, Recreation, Education, Human Movement/Exercise Science, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Tech Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office, database management software, and basic digital/social media tools
Skills & Competencies
- Organization: Strong multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail for managing schedules and logistics.
- Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with proven capability in presentation and negotiation.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to manage a network of staff and external clients effectively.
- Autonomy & Initiative: Strong self-direction, time management, and problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision required.
- Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of multi-sport rules and program design
Licences & Clearances
- Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Valid, unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends based on operational and sporting event requirements.
