The Position
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced senior engineering manager to join our busy Wagga Wagga office. We are looking for a highly capable and motivated professional who can confidently manage projects, provide technical oversight, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative team environment.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified civil engineer with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including strong design capabilities and a proven ability to lead and deliver projects independently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is ready to transition from hands-on design work to a broader management and leadership position. The workload will be approximately 50% design and 50% project management and supervision, providing a balanced mix of technical engagement and strategic oversight.
Our projects span residential, commercial, and industrial developments, as well as subdivisions and land development. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing success and growth of a respected regional consultancy.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage civil engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Undertake and review design work to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.

Check and approve design documentation and drawings prior to issue.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and graduate engineers.

Oversee project delivery to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Manage workloads, priorities, and resources across multiple ongoing projects.

Attend site inspections and provide technical input during construction, as required.
Position Requirements

A degree in civil engineering.

10+ years’ experience in the Australian industry.

In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards.

Be a member of Engineers Australia.

Experience with SpaceGass, AutoCad, 12d, Drains, Inducta suite, TEDDS, and Microstran.

A desire to move from purely design work to design and project management.

Proven ability to review and verify the work of others, ensuring the accuracy and quality of design documentation prior to issue.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
