About us:
The Community Child, Youth and Family Health (CYFH) team delivers culturally appropriate, accessible services to families across the Cairns urban area. Working within a multidisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, psychologists, speech pathologists, Indigenous health workers and administrative staff, we provide both universal and targeted programs across maternal and infant health, child and youth health, and parental support. Our approach is collaborative and evidence-based, with a strong focus on meeting the needs of our diverse community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Through strong partnerships and a commitment to health promotion, education, and continuous professional development, we support children, young people and families to achieve better health outcomes.
About your opportunity:
In this role you will....
Apply effective communication strategies with colleagues and external referral sources to ensure all clinicians have access to the most up to date information regarding a client's immunisation status.
Organise opportunities for Outreach Immunisation service utilisation through active collaboration with community organisations, Traditional Elders and family members
Contribute to evaluation and monitoring of the Outreach Immunisation Program service through timely data collection, management and analysis including the maintenance of the outreach database, Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) and additional Queensland Health administrative tools.
Support families whose children have received immunisation overseas to ensure immunisations are recorded in the Australian Immunisation Register and that these childrens' immunisation status aligns with Australian National Immunisation Program recommendations.
