Casual Disability Support Worker - Outer East (Mooroolbark)
Who are we?
At Professional Besties, we believe disability support should feel exactly like catching up with a great friend! We are totally throwing out the rigid, cold, old-school care models. Instead, we match our awesome participants with vibrant, energetic, and relatable support workers who share their genuine interests, music taste, and hobbies. We are the ultimate hype-people, community guides, and sidekicks for our participants!
We are on the hunt for a casual Disability Support Worker to join our crew for an ongoing roster opening in Mooroolbark (and surrounding outer-eastern suburbs).
The Vibe and Pay Rates
This is a super flexible casual role that fits perfectly around your uni study, creative projects, or lifestyle. We pay fully in accordance with the SCHADS Award Pay Guide under the Social and Community Services (SACS) stream (Level 2, Pay Point 4).
What you earn (25% Casual Loading Included):
- Weekday Hangouts: $47.16 per hour
- Saturday Adventures (175%): $66.03 per hour
- Sunday Funday (225%): $84.89 per hour
- Public Holidays (275%): $103.76 per hour
- Superannuation: + 12% Super
- Road Trip Perks: An extra $1.00 per kilometre vehicle allowance whenever you cruise around with a participant in your car!
- First Aid Perk: $0.52 per hour first aid allowance.
What a day out looks like:
- Epic Outings: Hitting up local cafes on Brice Avenue, shopping trips, movies, and fun community events.
- Life Admin and Transport: Driving your client to appointments and helping them crush their weekly errands.
- Independence Building: Helping them learn to cook, budget, master the Lilydale train line, and smash their NDIS goals.
- Daily Support: Helping out with light household tasks, meal prep, and occasional morning or evening personal care routines.
- Keep it Real: Writing quick, conversational shift notes to log the wins and highlights of the day.
The Roster Situation:
We are explicitly looking to lock in an ongoing, permanent Wednesday shift from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM in Mooroolbark.
Beyond this anchor shift, you will have plenty of options to pick up extra casual hours and ad-hoc shifts across the Outer East whenever you want them!
What you need to bring:
- The Vibe Check: You are empathetic, a great conversationalist, reliable, and full of positive energy.
- Preferences: For this specific ongoing Wednesday roster, a female worker is preferred by the client (males are still highly encouraged to apply for our broader team talent pool!). If you are smoke-tolerant, that is a massive plus for this specific client.
- Attitude over Everything: Prior experience or a Cert III/IV in Disability is awesome, but your unique personality, life experience, and a genuine heart are what matter most.
The Official Checklist:
To get out on the road with our participants, you will need to hold (or be willing to quickly grab) the following:
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Check (current)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) - renewed within the last 3 years
