A fresh chapter is opening on the harbour.
Adina Sydney Darling Harbour is reopening following a full refurbishment, a premium apartment hotel in one of Sydney’s most vibrant waterfront locations.
Located on King Street Wharf, only a short walk from Barangaroo, the CBD and ICC, the hotel offers 114 spacious studios and apartments designed to give guests comfort, flexibility, and space to stay their own way.
This is a rare opportunity to join the team ahead of reopening and help shape the guest experience from day one.
Introducing Shoreline Kitchen.
At the heart of the hotel sits Shoreline Kitchen, a new all day dining concept open to guests and locals alike. A produce driven, seasonal kitchen with a clear philosophy and the creative freedom to back it up. If you’re looking for a kitchen where you can genuinely grow, this is it.
About the role
As a Commis Chef at Shoreline Kitchen, you’ll be part of a kitchen that takes its food seriously and its people seriously too. You’ll build your foundations under experienced senior chefs, contribute to a produce driven menu, and develop your craft in an environment that wants to see you grow.
You’ll work as part of a close knit kitchen team, reporting to the Executive Chef. You’ll be hands on from day one, contributing across sections and learning at every step.
What you’ll be doing
- Uphold high standards of food production, presentation, hygiene, and safety across every shift. Workspaces and equipment are clean, organised, and compliant, always.
- Prepare mise en place to support smooth operations across current and upcoming shifts. Your section is set up and ready before service begins.
- Manage your section efficiently, maintaining strong organisation and workflow throughout service. You take ownership of your space and your output.
- Follow direction from senior chefs, ensuring food is prepared and presented to professional standards. You’re eager to absorb, apply, and improve with every service.
- Support safe work practices, correct food storage and labelling, equipment maintenance reporting, and cross team communication. You’re a reliable presence the kitchen team counts on.
About you
You’re a passionate Commis Chef looking to grow your career in a dynamic and creative kitchen environment. You’re hungry to learn, serious about your craft, and ready to contribute to something being built from the ground up in one of Sydney’s most exciting new dining spaces
You’ll ideally bring:
- Hands on experience in quality restaurants, hotels, or multi outlet kitchens, with a strong desire to learn and develop
- A collaborative mindset, eager to support and learn from senior chefs while building strong relationships within the kitchen team
- A commitment to food safety and hygiene, with a basic understanding of HACCP and kitchen operations
- A guest first approach, helping to deliver memorable dining experiences that reflect the venue’s culinary vision
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and evenings
