The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age.

About Your New Role
Are you looking for a role with real meaning and purpose? Gold Coast Health have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake holistic mental health consumer care including intake, assessment, diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, implementation of targeted intervention, evaluation, discharge planning and appropriate community support referral
Lead and coordinate clinical care in the work unit, performing the role of shift coordinator as required
Provide advanced clinical expertise within a comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation-oriented framework
Contribute to development of team capability, provide operational process direction, training, mentoring, reflective practice, debriefing interventions, clinical supervision
Qualifications
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
NMBA Registration
Driver Licence
A graduate certificate or greater within the specialty area is highly desirable
Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or willing to work towards it)
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Permanent Part time (64 hours per fortnight)
Base salary ranging from $57.48 - $61.55 per hour
