Primary objective
The role provides day-to-day business and administrative support to the business support team including in relation to travel, recruitment,
accounts payable, procurement approvals and general office support management. The role also ensures accurate, process-driven service
delivery and compliance with financial and NT Government (NTG) procedures.
Context statement
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) operates independently within the Attorney-General’s Department.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate travel, recruitment and administrative activities in accordance with NT Government policies, procedures and relevant
legislative requirements to ensure efficient and compliant business operations
2. Process invoices, maintain accounts payable records, and administer procurement and approval workflows in compliance with NTG
financial policies, agency delegations ensuring accuracy, accountability and audit readiness.
3. Support procurement activities in accordance with the Procurement Act 1995, NT Government Procurement Rules and Procurement
Governance Policy, ensuring appropriate documentation, record keeping and adherence to value for territory, transparency and
probity principles.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for internal staff on routine business support matters, exercising sound judgement when resolving
day-to-day issues and escalating high risk and more complex matters to the Manager Business Support as required.
5. Follow established processes using systems such as PIPS, eRecruit, TRIPS, and NTG Pay to complete administrative tasks efficiently
while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
6. Contribute to the identification of continuous improvement opportunities across administrative processes.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience coordinating accounts payable, recruitment, travel, procurement processes, and financial workflows with strong
attention to accuracy and compliance. including interpretation and application of legislative, policy and delegated authority
requirements.
2. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to respond to high volumes of internal requests
and escalate issues appropriately.
3. Substantial working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suites.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, including meeting deadlines, exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality
and deliver outcomes within required timeframes while ensuring compliance and attention to detail.
5. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates the NTPS values of being committed to service, respectful, accountable,
diverse, ethical and impartial.
Desirable
1. Practical knowledge of NTG systems and tools such as PIPS, eRecruit, TRIPS, and NTG Pay or similar systems.
2. Understanding of procurement, invoicing and accounts payable workflows, and financial compliance requirements in a government
environment.
