About the Role
The Chef de Partie will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes in a fast-paced café and restaurant environment. The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain food quality, consistency, hygiene and service standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present menu items to a high standard.
Manage a designated section of the kitchen during service.
Assist with menu preparation, stock rotation and daily mise en place.
Ensure food is prepared safely and in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas.
Monitor portion control, presentation and wastage.
Assist with ordering, receiving and storing kitchen supplies.
Support and train junior kitchen staff where required.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
Skills and Experience Required
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef de Partie, Chef, Cook or similar role.
Relevant commercial cookery qualification is preferred.
Experience working in a busy café, restaurant or high-volume hospitality environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required.
Pay: $79,423.00 – $85,000.00 per year
