About the Role
G&M Cosmetics is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Taren Point.
The successful candidate must have experience in cosmetics manufacturing and a good understanding of cosmetics production processes, machinery, hygiene requirements and GMP procedures.
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production and packaging equipment to ensure the factory operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair cosmetics production and packaging machinery
- Diagnose mechanical faults and minimise production downtime
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
- Maintain filling machines, mixing tanks, pumps, conveyors, labelling machines and packaging equipment
- Inspect and replace bearings, belts, seals, valves and other mechanical components
- Assist with machinery installation, modification and improvement projects
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained according to cosmetics manufacturing and GMP requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse and Quality teams
- Follow workplace health and safety and factory hygiene procedures
Essential Requirements
- Mechanical fitting qualification or equivalent trade qualification
- At least 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in cosmetics manufacturing is essential
- Good understanding of cosmetics production processes and GMP requirements
- Experience maintaining filling machines, mixing tanks, pumps, conveyors and packaging equipment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage maintenance priorities
- Reliable, organised and safety-focused
- Good communication and teamwork skills
