Are you an experienced A-Grade Electrician looking to move off the tools without leaving the industry behind?
GMS Solutions Group is offering a unique hybrid role designed for an experienced commercial electrician wanting to transition into project delivery and management. This position combines office-based responsibilities with hands-on site work, allowing you to develop new skills while continuing to stay connected to the field.
Initially, your time will be split between the office and site, providing technical support, overseeing projects and assisting with installations where required. As your experience grows, there is a clear pathway into a full-time Project Manager or Operations role.
About the Role
This is a varied position where no two days are the same. Responsibilities include:
- Performing hands-on electrical work when required to support project delivery.
- Preparing quotations and estimating commercial electrical projects.
- Attending site inspections and client meetings.
- Initial project setup, planning and procurement.
- Coordinating electricians, subcontractors and site managers.
- Overseeing project delivery to ensure quality, safety and programme requirements are achieved.
- Labour forecasting and resource planning.
- Testing and commissioning electrical equipment.
- Managing project documentation and variations.
- Using our job management system to track projects from quotation through to completion.
- Providing technical support to site teams.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence.
- Strong experience in commercial electrical installations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence dealing directly with builders, consultants and clients.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to read plans, specifications and electrical drawings.
- Sound computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
- A proactive attitude and a desire to grow into a leadership position.
Experience in commercial fit-outs, healthcare, education, government or industrial projects will be highly regarded.
