Salary - $79,000 - $89,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Early Childhood Teacher to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging educational programs for pre-primary children. The successful candidate will create meaningful play-based learning experiences that support children's literacy, numeracy, communication, creativity, physical development and social-emotional wellbeing, while working collaboratively with families, colleagues and support services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Plan, prepare and deliver engaging daily learning experiences using a range of educational resources and play-based activities to support children's development.
· Teach early literacy, numeracy, communication, music, art, creativity and motor skills through age-appropriate ad interactive learning experiences.
· Support children’s language, communication and social development through storytelling, songs, rhymes, games, discussions and role-play.
· Plan activities that develop children’s physical skills, confidence, teamwork, independence and problem-solving abilities.
· Observe, document and assess children's learning, behaviour and development to identify individual strengths, progress and areas requiring additional support.
· Promote children’s emotional and social development by encouraging confidence, independence, positive relationships and respectful interactions.
· Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming learning environment, supporting children’s health, hygiene, nutrition, safety and wellbeing.
· Establish and maintain positive classroom routines, guide children's behaviour and encourage active participation in learning.
· Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding children’s learning, development, behaviour and educational progress.
· Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, community members and relevant support services to promote children's learning and overall wellbeing.
· Attend parent meetings, staff discussions, planning sessions and professional development activities to support continuous improvement in teaching practice.
· Guide and support trainee teachers and placement students, providing appropriate supervision, mentoring and feedback.
· Ensure educational programs and practices comply with relevant early childhood education frameworks, regulatory requirements, centre policies and health and safety procedures.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree or similar qualification approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is essential.
· Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as an Early Childhood Teacher or in a comparable pre-primary teaching role.
· Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate play-based learning programs.
· Sound knowledge of children’s early literacy, numeracy, language, social, emotional, creative and physical development.
· Experience observing and assessing children’s learning and using observations to inform educational planning and individual support.
· Strong understanding of relevant early childhood learning frameworks, regulatory requirements, child safety and duty-of-care responsibilities.
· Ability to establish positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues and external support services.
· Strong classroom management, organisation, planning and record-keeping skills.
· A caring, patient and inclusive approach with a genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a professional early childhood education team.
· Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is essential, along with a valid Working with Children Check and relevant clearances.
WHAT IS ON OFFER:
