As the new in-house consultancy practice for Queensland’s public sector, QGCS provides high quality, independent consulting services and advice and skills transfer to Queensland public sector clients. QGCS partners with clients on projects that are high impact, complex and require bespoke solutions. QGCS is a division of Queensland Treasury Corporation.
We are looking for Associates and Senior Associates who want to apply their commercial, financial, procurement, transaction, investment or consulting skills to work that matters. This is an opportunity to help Queensland public sector clients make evidence-based decisions, uplift capability, manage risk, and deliver better outcomes for Queensland. You will join a growing consulting team delivering practical, high-quality advice across two connected service offerings.

Commercial, contract and transaction advisory, helping government clients design commercial pathways, engage markets, structure procurement and transactions, and test financial choices. The outcomes we achieve are improved value-for-money, compliance and sustainability.

Portfolio assessment and decision making, helping government clients define investment needs, assess options, develop business cases, review projects and model decisions. The outcomes we achieve are evidence-based investment and delivery frameworks.
You will contribute to a diverse range of projects, helping clients make informed commercial, procurement and investment decisions. This may include supporting business cases, transactions, market engagement, financial analysis, commercial strategy and project delivery.
As an Associate or Senior Associate in QGCS, you will deliver practical consulting outcomes by:

contributing to the planning, scoping and delivery of commercial, investment, procurement, transaction or project advisory work

undertaking research, financial analysis, pricing, costing, valuation or data modelling to support clear decision-making
-
helping develop sourcing strategies, market engagement approaches, procurement frameworks, contracts, business cases, transaction plans and client deliverables
-
identifying commercial, financial or delivery risks and contribute to practical options to manage them
-
distilling complex commercial, financial and investment issues into clear, everyday language
-
contributing to client meetings, workshops, presentations and stakeholder discussions with clarity and professionalism
-
supporting capability uplift across government teams by helping clients build stronger commercial, investment and delivery capability
About You: You may have experience in consulting, government advisory, corporate finance, infrastructure, transaction or commercial advisory, or a related field.
You will bring:

practical experience using financial, commercial, procurement, investment or transaction analysis to support decisions

1 - 3 years’ (associate) or 3 - 6 years’ (senior associate) relevant experience, including exposure across one or a mix of commercial advisory, procurement strategy, contract negotiation, project and investment model development, corporate finance, investments, capital markets, feasibility studies, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence or transaction structuring.
