About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Sewing Machine Mechanic / Handyman to join our team in Mt Waverley. This role involves servicing and maintaining sewing machines, carrying out preventative maintenance, assisting with installation of machines, and general repair/handyman duties. The position can be permanent part-time or full-time, depending on the right candidate.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Service and repair a wide range of industrial sewing machines.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Install new machines and ensure proper setup and calibration.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide timely solutions.
- Perform general workshop/handyman tasks when required.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a sewing mechanic or technician highly regarded.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with general workshop tools and handyman duties.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to think laterally and problem solve in a practical, hands-on environment.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
