Employment Type: Full Time | Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:36pm. | On site
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Dry Goods Store Person is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control and distribution of packaging, consumables, chemicals and general stores items to support daily production. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring stock availability, and providing excellent internal customer service while maintaining a safe, clean and organised warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming deliveries against delivery documentation.
- Pick, prepare and distribute packaging, consumables and production supplies to operational departments.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to the Purchasing team to prevent stock shortages.
- Coordinate deliveries with transport providers and off-site storage facilities.
- Operate forklifts safely and complete daily pre-start inspections and equipment cleaning.
- Maintain accurate stock records and complete all required documentation.
- Conduct regular stock level checks across dry goods, PPE, chemicals, laundry supplies and amenities.
- Support inventory accuracy through routine spot checks and stock management activities.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness through general housekeeping, waste removal and pallet management.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and food safety requirements.
About You
You are an organised and reliable warehouse professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You take pride in maintaining accurate inventory, keeping work areas tidy, and ensuring production teams have the supplies they need to operate efficiently.
You will bring:
- Previous warehouse or stores experience, preferably within manufacturing or food production.
- A current LF High Risk Work License (Forklift License).
- Experience operating forklifts safely in a warehouse environment.
- Sound understanding of inventory control and stock management processes.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate record keeping and paperwork completion.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
- Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems (desirable).
- Ability to undertake manual handling and physical work throughout the shift.
Measures of Success
Success in this role will be demonstrated through:
- Accurate inventory management and stock records.
- Timely supply of packaging and consumables to production departments.
- Minimal stock shortages through proactive replenishment.
- Safe forklift operation and compliance with all safety procedures.
- Well-maintained warehouse, chemical and storage areas.
- Positive working relationships with Production, Purchasing and external suppliers.
- Consistent compliance with food safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
