Deakin Dental Care is a privately owned general dental practice located in the affluent inner south Canberra suburb of Deakin. The practice offers all facets of general dentistry including implants, treatment under IV sedation in the practice and under general anaesthetic at a local hospital.
We are looking for an experienced Associate Dentist to join our small, dynamic team of dentists.
About the role:
- Flexibility in days - we ideally would like a minimum of 2 days per week but are flexible and can offer up to 5 days a week for the right person.
- Busy books from the get go.
- Access to mentorship and support from an experienced Principal and Senior Associate Dentist.
- Opportunity to complete treatment under IV sedation with our Principal and Senior Associate Dentists for patients wanting this.
- Fully digital practice including onsite OPG and CBCT machine.
- Be a part of the growth of the practice, we are still quite a new, young practice that has grown quite rapidly since opening in 2022.
- Team of supportive dental assistants, receptionists and experienced practice manager onsite 5 days a week.
- Commission based role with invoices paid to you on a regular basis (monthly).
About you:
- Ideally 5+ years experience as a general dentist in Australia - we are open to less experienced candidates or overseas qualified dentists, however we do have a patient base from a retired dentist and retiring dentist, that needs a confident, capable practitioner.
- Be confident in treatment planning and selling treatment.
- Be able to work independently - there is always support available but having the ability to diagnose, treat and manage patients independently would be a bonus.
- Provide patient centric care - we have a practice of long-term, loyal patients who have followed our dentists from previous practices, being able to help foster, continue and nurture this relationship is essential.
- Want to work and are able to proactively seek and complete treatment to grow your books - we have patients waiting and a steady flow of new patients coming into the practice but we need someone who can identify what needs to be done and do it as we try not to refer out of the practice as much as possible.
- Able to work collaboratively with our team of dentists and utilise the skills and expertise available within the practice.
- Look for opportunities to grow and further develop your skills.
- Work well in a team.
- Have completed a relevant degree and hold relevant AHRPA registration, insurance and licences to enable you to legally practice as a dentist in Australia.
The role is available to start as soon as possible with patients waiting for appointments.
