Environ Metal Designs is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team.
We're looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the CNC area and help improve the way we CNC. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to factory systems, stock control, quality processes, and production improvements while working on a variety of custom architectural aluminium projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery
- Create and optimise nesting layouts for aluminium sheet products
- Manage sheet stock and offcut inventory
- Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions for CNC operations
- Establish efficient systems for storing, identifying, and organising raw materials and offcuts
- Cut, label, and prepare components for fabrication teams
- Distribute cut materials to fabricators in accordance with production schedules
- Conduct quality checks on machined components
- Assist with general factory duties when required
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, material utilisation, and workflow
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery
- Strong understanding of sheet optimisation and material yield
- Experience managing material stock and inventory
- Ability to develop and implement manufacturing procedures and SOPs
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience working with aluminium sheet products highly regarded
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to assist across the factory when required
