Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive and high-performance dashboards in Grafana
- Build visually compelling and user-friendly data visualisations tailored to business and operational needs
- Integrate Grafana with multiple data sources including:
- REST APIs and microservices
- Relational databases (SQL-based systems)
- Time-series databases
- Message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka or equivalents)
- Develop custom panels, plugins, and extensions for Grafana where required
- Work closely with data engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective dashboards
- Optimise dashboard performance, query efficiency, and data retrieval processes
- Implement best practices for observability, monitoring, and alerting
- Ensure secure handling and presentation of sensitive government data
- Document solutions, architecture decisions, and technical configurations
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and visualisations in Grafana
- Proven experience integrating Grafana with multiple heterogeneous data sources:
- APIs (REST/GraphQL)
- SQL/NoSQL databases
- Event streaming or queue systems
- Strong proficiency in:
- JavaScript
- HTML
- CSS
- Solid understanding of data modelling and query optimisation for visual analytics
- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a contract setting
Nice to Have
- Experience developing Grafana plugins or extensions
- Familiarity with backend development (Node.js or similar frameworks)
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Loki, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience working within government or regulated environments
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical dashboards and insights
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Strong time management and ability to deliver within contract timelines
Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
