Position Summary
Accounts Nextgen Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to manage the organisation's financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements. The accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, and supporting management with financial planning and business decision-making.
The role is critical to the effective operation of the business as it supports financial accountability, regulatory compliance, cash flow management, and the continued growth of the organisation.
This position is essential to supporting the financial management and ongoing growth of Accounts Nextgen Pty Ltd by ensuring sound financial practices, regulatory compliance, and effective business planning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records, financial statements, and management reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Monitor income, expenditure, budgets, and financial performance of the organisation.
- Conduct bank, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST, PAYG, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Analyse financial information and provide recommendations to management regarding financial performance and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with superannuation and employee entitlement obligations.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and government authorities as required.
- Review and improve accounting systems, financial controls, and business processes.
- Assist management with strategic financial planning and business growth initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information and records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
- Professional accounting qualifications or progress towards CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or IPA membership will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation requirements, GST, BAS, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Salary: AUD $80,000- $100,000 per annum plus superannuation

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
